Formula 1 management will discuss possible changes to the points system next week. Negotiations will take place in Geneva, at the next meeting of the Formula 1 Commission. All teams, F1 and FIA will take part in to discuss key points, including the points system.
The new system could be introduced in Formula 1 as early as next year. It will help smaller teams to score more points in a race weekend to spread the total number of points.

The new points system will change very little. Instead of 10, 12 drivers will get points at the end of the race. The points for the first seven drivers will remain the same, but for places from 8th to 12th they will be redistributed.
