The Chevrolet Corvette will once again feature the vibrant paint finish it was designed for, with the return of Competition Yellow for the upcoming model year. The Corvette Stingray, Z06, and E-Ray will receive several updates for 2025, with one of the most notable being the reintroduction of familiar exterior colors, including Sebring Orange and Competition Yellow, known as the all-time best Corvette color. Hysteria Purple, which resembles blue, will also make its debut.
The only drawback is that for the 2025 Corvette, Sebring Orange Tintcoat Metallic and Competition Yellow Tintcoat Metallic will be extra-cost options, as reported by Corvette Forum. The pricing for these paint options is yet to be disclosed, but opting for more colorful finishes on the current Corvette can raise the price by $500 to $995. It’s worth noting that previously, the C8 Vette offered a yellow option, Accelerate Yellow Metallic, which was more highlighter-esque, while Sebring Orange was replaced with Amplify Orange after 2021.

Competition Yellow is essentially the default racing color for the Corvette, as its name suggests. Many Corvettes, from the C5 through the C8, have competed in motorsport adorned in striking yellow liveries that align with the Corvette’s mission of demonstrating what an American performance machine can achieve, often surpassing pricier exotic rivals. Comp Yellow gives the Corvette a look that’s ready to conquer Italian and German cars on the track, reminiscent of the real-life version of the Hot Wheels toy cherished from childhood.
The lack of color in the modern auto industry has long been a disappointment for enthusiasts, even though safe and neutral paint finishes tend to sell in much higher quantities than vibrant ones. However, sports cars typically embrace bolder choices, and while the C8 didn’t necessarily need more attention-grabbing hues, Competition Yellow is to Chevy‘s flagship what Rosso Corsa is to a Ferrari. It’s high time that customers have the opportunity to purchase the most daring Vette in decades, in its authentic team color.
