The new-generation GR Supra, developed by Toyota and BMW by sharing resources, has gained certain favor among car fans in the market. However, in the past, some netizens still joked that the “Godzilla” Nissan GT-R and “Japanese Ferrari” Honda NSX have more than 500 horsepower, but Toyota is still stuck in the horsepower output starting with 3…

In this regard, there have been rumors that Toyota will bring the strongest GRMN Supra, and it seems to be still in development. However, the launch time may be postponed to the end of this year or early next year.

At Germany’s famous Nürburgring circuit, foreign media have been continuously photographing the lightly camouflaged GR Supra. The focus of the cover is basically on the hood, bumper, large spoiler and rear wing, as well as different wheel frames. As well as the brake components that appear to be more ostentatious, the appearance kit alone seems to have a more performance feel than the commercially available GR Supra.

In the past, media speculated that the GRMN Supra might debut at the end of 2023 or the spring of 2024. However, as the first quarter of this year passed, there is still no trace of it. Now, foreign spy photos have been exposed, and it is found that the camouflaged Supra has been replaced with a GT4-like rear wing, which should be taken from the GR Supra GT4 EVO racing car. They continue to test different kit configurations, and indicate that the debut of the actual car may be delayed until the end of this year or early next year.

As for what configuration the power unit will have? The answer is still unknown. It is generally believed that it will be powered by the same 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine found in the BMW M3 and M4. The horsepower output will be squeezed to 550 hp, which is comparable to the performance flagship sports cars of other Japanese car manufacturers. Report from Best Car claims Toyota will use a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) in the GRMN Supra.
