2025 Nissan GT-R debuts with improved engine specs!

Nissan GT-R, also known as the “Godzilla”, is the dream car many of us. The R35 generation model was first launched in 2007. Since then, the model has been produced in various versions like SpecV, Black Edition, Track Edition, Nismo and T-Spec. Among them, the 2025 Nissan GT-R Premium Edition has added an exclusive Blue Heaven interior, while the Premium Edition T-Spec and Track Edition models have added new technologies. Those technologies were only available on NISMO models in the past.

The 2025 Nissan GT-R was officially released last week (14th of March). The much-anticipated exterior design has not been changed. It mainly uses the 2024-style redesign, sharper bumper shape and body lines. However, in terms of the interior of the GT-R Premium Edition, Blue Heaven’s exclusive interior options have been added, injecting sky blue elements into the Horizon Flow concept cockpit and integrating it into leather seats, center console and interior trim.

In addition, in terms of power, although the core of the 3.8-liter V6 twin-turbocharged engine is maintained. The GT-R Premium Edition T-Spec and Track Edition have added for the first time the high-precision weight-balanced piston rings, connecting rods and crankshafts that were only available on previous GT-R NISMO Special Edition. Even though the maximum horsepower of 565 horses has not increased compared to the previous one, the original manufacturer stated that the rotation speed and turbocharger speed have improved. The same is true for the Nismo version equipped with a maximum horsepower of 600 horses. The engine room will also be engraved with Takumi’s exclusive nameplate.

Regarding the vehicle price and delivery time, the 2025 Nissan GT-R is currently open for pre-order in Japan and will be delivered as soon as June this year. The entry-level GT-R Pure Edition is priced at 14.443 million yen, approximately US$96,775, and the highest-end NISMO version costs 30.613 million yen, approximately US$205,122.

In addition, there have been rumors that the R35 is coming to an end. The original manufacturer also confirmed it for the first time this time, saying that considering that many R35 parts have begun to be gradually discontinued, all production will officially end in August 2025. However, regarding whether there will be follow-up models in the future, the original manufacturer also said: “We will continue to research and develop in the future, so that a new generation of vehicles worthy of the name GT-R that combines environmental protection and performance will be born in the future.”
